Sarah Breu, BSc Kin CAT (C)

Owner & Athletic Therapist

Sarah got her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree from the University of Alberta where she volunteered with the varsity athletic therapy program working with the pandas rugby for 2 years.  Afterwards, she moved back to Calgary to recieve her Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal.  Throughout her years of school, Sarah got a lot of field experience with a variety of sports, from rugby, soccer, football, wrestling, and track and field. She had the priveledge of working with provinical level teams with rugby alberta, soccer alberta, football alberta and ultimate frisbee teams all competing at the national level.

Her professional career started in Canmore, where she was a personal trainer and staff manager at Athletic Evolution.  Living in the mountains was a dream, but the position of head Athletic Therapist at Red Deer College became available, and this was not an oppertunity to pass up.  Sarah worked at the college for 2 years, both running the varsity clinic, mentoring student trainers and teaching as a lab instructor in fitness and athletic therapy.  Her family life brought her back to Calgary which is when she started treating in private practice, and started her own business, Return to Play Therapy.

Sarah's treatment approach is very holistic, to incorporate the entire body.  She not only treats your pain, but she addresses the contributing factors that caused the pain or injury in the first place.  Sarah uses a lot of manual techniques, and is certified in Graston and K-taping.

After having her second child, Sarah  treated and resolved her own diastasis recti. This experience has opened her eyes up to the lack of treatment and care provided to women after giving birth.  Working with post natal women, to help them recover from childbirth and help prepare for any additional pregnancies has evolved into a new passion of hers.  She has now started offering post natal courses for women to help restore the function to their deep core muscles, which help prevent and treat diastasis recti, low back pain, deep hip pain or deep pelvic pain.  In addition to treating athletes, Sarah's developed expertise in  deep core muscles has helped women get their bodies functioning properly so they can return to play with their kids, spouses and all their other pre-pregnancy activities.

Sarah has always lived an active lifestyle from playing baseball and figure skating to waterskiing, wakeboarding and knee-boarding as a kid to hiking, cross country skiing, SUP and rock climbing as an adult.  Sarah is a mom to 3 active kids and when not working, she is out adventuring with her fam.
